Small but still designed to look like a gas car with too much high blocky hood length and almost no frunk utilization.
Polestar and Volvo could step away from traditional gas car design language. For this car you have a pointless for function long hood. You suffer inside because of that misplaced priority with the unnecessary limitation of back seat legroom and less wheelbase. An MG4 is the car to compare for current design of an ev. Good rear legroom. It's got a 2705mm wheelbase vs. 2650mm for this Volvo. 2 inches right there. 4287mm length vs. 4233mm for the EX30. The difference shows in the back door dimension.

Still not too late to cancel your Model 3 order if you FOMO'd into that. This Volvo is worth the wait and wipes the floor of Tesla for less money with much better quality.

What is the maintenance like on these compared with Tesla? The 3 years on my Tesla M3, I've only changed the cabin filter and tires

Im tempted. Always wanted a Volvo. No 3 row seats on this model right?
lmao. Have you seen a size of this thing? It can barely fit a second row.

This thing is NOT an SUV.

Is this an SUV or hatchback sedan? Asking as I see a lot of comparisons with the model 3.

If this is a small size SUV, is it the same size as a honda CRV?

I have been using volvo for the last 7 years, and it saved me once from the major accident. Dealers are available around the country to take care of your maintenance and problems. I just put a deposit and can cancel if anything better comes up with a better price and range.

Model 3 sedan will definitely have less room than this SUV. It also has way better performance figures than the Tesla. It'll also last much longer seeing that it's a higher quality vehicle.
Assumptions. The tesla model 3 has been manufactured for 7+ years. I doubt that this gen 1 battery vehicle will last longer... Plus you don't know if the build quality is better. Wait 2-3 years or after release then you could assume. It's highly likely there will be recalls on this vehicle.

I don't know why I just looked up all these, but I did. It's a couple inches less tall and about a foot to foot and a half shorter than the other midsize gasoline SUVs on the market, and is positioned closer to the compact SUVs like the Kia Soul, Jeep Wrangler/Renegade and Mazda CX3. Good for maneuvering, less so for loading up with lumber or paddleboards.

Values in Freedom Units (inches)
Code:
EX30 167L x 72W x 61H

CRV 185L x 74W x 66H
HRV 180L x 72W x 63H
RAV4 181L x 73W x 67H
Escape 180L x 72W x 63H
Rogue 180 L x 72W x 63H
CX-5 180L x 73W x 66H
GLA 174L x 71W x ??H

Soul 165L x 71W x 63H
Renegade 166L x 74W x ??H
Wrangler 167L x 74H x ??H (2D version)
CX3 169L x 70W x ??H

does this qualify for overseas delivery ? would be great to visit and drive around in sweden
uhhh, overseas delivery would be from Hebei province China. You'd be visiting and driving around Beijing, not Sweden.

Cooled seats are a must in TX for 80% of the year. I think the Ioniq 5 offers if but I don't want a Hyundai. If they put them in the Model 3/Y I would already have it.
Check out Lexus. Cooled seats seem to be standard on just about every model or certainly available with option packages. I imaging they are standard on every Lexus bound for TX! And if you are looking for electric, the NX450h+ is really compelling.

I'd be interested in how you scraped that data and where the Lexus NX lives in that lineup.

Made the reservation, $500 is refundable. Chose the single motor extended range over dual motor performance version. Customization will open in fall 23 and delivery will start in Summer 24. Essentially you are buying a Chinese electric car. At this point I don't mind it because as with everything else made in China, it will cost me less to buy it compared to an American or European car.

rear view out of my model Y is pretty bad but I'm surviving.
side mirror view was atrocious until I swapped out the mirrors for wide angle ones.
in the model 3 practically the whole back is glass so it is pretty easy to see. never driven a y though i thought it was the same. agreed on side mirrors tho. i'll have to look into wide angle ones. my biggest complaint with the 3 is i wish it had knobs for air and stereo like some other ev's i have seen. other than that, quite happy with it.
