Polestar and Volvo could step away from traditional gas car design language. For this car you have a pointless for function long hood. You suffer inside because of that misplaced priority with the unnecessary limitation of back seat legroom and less wheelbase. An MG4 is the car to compare for current design of an ev. Good rear legroom. It's got a 2705mm wheelbase vs. 2650mm for this Volvo. 2 inches right there. 4287mm length vs. 4233mm for the EX30. The difference shows in the back door dimension.

if you don't have time, watch this first video from 15:50. there's a 3 way car crash between Chinese EV, Mercedes non EV, and Tesla. Objectively see what's the safest option for you. Burning EV starts around 4 minute mark

Didn't realize there's no driver side gauge.
To pull the plug [cambridge.org] is the opposite.
They don't design any vehicles here. They only thing they build in the US is the S60,
The vehicle this thread is about was designed by a Chinese company, in china, and is built in china, and is shared with 2 other cars also made in china.
Why?
The average american drives 30 miles a day.
300-350, widely available under 50k, and with widespread fast charging locations, is plenty enough range for anybody that isn't driving cross-country on a weekly basis.
Not to mention you can build 4 300 mile cars with the same batteries you can only build 3 400 mile cars with.
They do- but then they worsen the lease terms when they do:

Hyundai Ionic and Nissan Aria are already doing this because otherwise they don't qualify for the 7,500 credit.
