Polestar and Volvo could step away from traditional gas car design language. For this car you have a pointless for function long hood. You suffer inside because of that misplaced priority with the unnecessary limitation of back seat legroom and less wheelbase. An MG4 is the car to compare for current design of an ev. Good rear legroom. It's got a 2705mm wheelbase vs. 2650mm for this Volvo. 2 inches right there. 4287mm length vs. 4233mm for the EX30. The difference shows in the back door dimension.

Tesla has officially added made-in-China (MIC) Model 3 and Model Y vehicles to its Canadian inventory, confirming the American EV maker has shipped vehicles from its Shanghai Gigafactory to North America, according to Drive Tesla Canada.
This is due to the way the Inflation Reduction Act tax credits are structured. To qualify, a car must be assembled in North America, but also must source 40% of its critical minerals from the US or free trade countries, and 50% of its battery components must be built in North America. These percentages will go up year by year, but they're set at those levels for now.
CHIPS act passed recently is IMO one of best moves to reduce our reliance on China for high-tech, but I doubt we will see fully US-manufactured cars or electronics (slaves in China are so cheep)
Last year, China opened up two coal plants EACH WEEK!

As I understand models S and X are still around 2/3 american, but model 3 is more Chinese vs 5 years ago. That's the reason the base model 3 received only 50% of tax credit:
Just to compare with old-schoolToyotas:

But again, this makes no sense unless we (as a country) regulate this. Our trade balance with China deep dived (i.e. we started to buy more from China) in 2017 and the trend continues as of now, it does not matter the party/president is ruling.

Make sense why you don't qualify for full tax credit as most of the items are Made in China. Car is probably just aseembled here.
