Polestar and Volvo could step away from traditional gas car design language. For this car you have a pointless for function long hood. You suffer inside because of that misplaced priority with the unnecessary limitation of back seat legroom and less wheelbase. An MG4 is the car to compare for current design of an ev. Good rear legroom. It's got a 2705mm wheelbase vs. 2650mm for this Volvo. 2 inches right there. 4287mm length vs. 4233mm for the EX30. The difference shows in the back door dimension.

I do not expect those specs for the base model.... and I bet it will have a smaller battery for the base model and then the dealership will hit you up for more money stating that the actual price is msrp (what you got quated) plus a 5 or 10k markup.
"Price shown is for Core Single Motor Extended Range, RWD; certain trim levels may have limited availability. Final pricing and payment terms will be available closer to delivery time at your Volvo Cars retailer. Retailer price may vary. A reservation does not guarantee availability of a select trim."
You are paying for $500 without knowing final price. Not a slick deal.
Here is why:
With Tesla, IMO what you are really buying (in order) is:
1. Software
2. Hardware (sensors, chips, etc)
3. Fast Charging Network
4. The Car itself
It is hard to overstate how much better Tesla's "vertically integrated" software/hardware is.
If you want to have your eyes opened, see what Ford's CEO has to say about Tesla vs Ford (you could substitute many other legacy carmakers).
It's nuts how legacy car companies have to integrate so many hardware/software vendors. Spoiler: it's ugly

the tesla car itself is probably the worst part about tesla.
the software itself (UI, responsiveness) is pretty solid, but the self driving part is nowhere close to what they billed it as.
the hardware is the part that infuriates owners the most these days, first with Musk stubbornly refusing to incorporate lidar, and now removing USS.
This needs to be mentioned as well in the body or subject of this deal by the OP that this is the smallest of their SUVs, $500 deposit, a year wait time, Gen 1 ( possibly too many recalls, performance issues and what not ... see Lucid and Rivian, plagued by issues issues and more issues ) and no final price is provided.

I did have to charge up my Bolt multiple times (80% range + much worse mileage on freeway)...fortunately, after locating multiple broken DC chargers, I found one that only charged 15 cents a KWh with no other fees. And it gave me free parking in heart of city.
I would say that 95% of Tesla buyers have no clue what lidar or USS are, just like posters who go on and on about 8gb RAM in Macbooks.
