Polestar and Volvo could step away from traditional gas car design language. For this car you have a pointless for function long hood. You suffer inside because of that misplaced priority with the unnecessary limitation of back seat legroom and less wheelbase. An MG4 is the car to compare for current design of an ev. Good rear legroom. It's got a 2705mm wheelbase vs. 2650mm for this Volvo. 2 inches right there. 4287mm length vs. 4233mm for the EX30. The difference shows in the back door dimension.

This is needs to be mentioned as well in the body or subject of this deal by the OP that this is the smallest of their SUVs, $500 deposit, a year wait time, Gen 1 ( possibly too many recalls, performance issues and what not ... see Lucid and Rivian, plagued by issues issues and more issues ) and no final price is provided.

I don't listen to any media. Why? Because I'm holding a Ph.D. in chemistry, and I know how these farking chemical batteries are produced and recycled. So I don't assume anything, I only talk based on facts and science. 10 years from now, you all will see what I see today.

As anybody with any actual science background would understand, it's far more efficient and environmentally sound to burn cleaner natural gas in a central power plant for electricity than it is to refine dirtier gasoline and burn it in highly inefficient internal combustions engines who waste 70% of their fuels energy as heat.
And the source of electricity keeps getting less dirty year over year, has been for a good while now and will keep doing so.
and I know how these farking chemical batteries are produced and recycled.
For example any batteries Tesla gets back at end of life are 100% are recycled and 0 ends up in a landfill.
As anybody with an actual science background would know, the materials in the batteries are QUITE valuable and an entire industry is rising around recycling these as a result.
It's yet another reason moving to EVs is so great for sustainability- You can't recycle used gasoline.
So a leasing company buying an EV that doesn't qualify for an individual purchase still gets the $7500 themselves. They may, or may not, pass along some or all of that $7500 to someone leasing a car from them-- YMMV by company and vehicle.

1. The methods of electricity generation vary by state. You can compare emissions for gas/hybrid/EV on a state by state basis here: https://afdc.energy.gov/vehicles/...sions.html
In my state, owning an EV results in 1/4 of the annual emissions of a gasoline vehicle. It isn't even comparable.
2. The methods of electricity generation move away from fossil fuels every year. Dunking on EVs for this when every grid is trending towards cleaner generation is a very short sighted approach.
3. Its entirely possible to charge your EV off of power generated from solar panels on your home roof. A huge benefit to people who want to be independent from infrastructure and be self-sufficient I'd say.
4. Recycling methods have been the midst of chicken/egg where the small number of EVs prevented large-scale recycling efforts from being necessary or profitable. Europe is years ahead of the US in this regard and there are repair shops that specialize in swapping battery packs. A large majority of battery packs are being refurbished and reused either in other vehicles or turned into whole-home battery backups. Recycling methods are fast improving with methods like this recovering 95% of materials while using drastically less energy than traditional recycling methods. https://pv-magazine-usa.com/2022/...ss-energy/
At the end of the day these concerns are problems to be solved and are being solved. There's a lot of FUD being spread around EVs. Take a step back and your concerns might not be the show stopper you might have thought they were! Cheers
