Minisforum has the poorest coolng designs; they are morons. They stick a heatsink on the CPU and they think they are done - to hell with the rest of the system. As for the YouTube reviewers you listed, they are all paid shills. None of these reviewers perform any type of prolonged stress test on these machines - if they did, many would fail thru overheating. ETA Prime is the prime shill. His reviews are vacuous and all he does is play games - there is almost nothing to learn from him.

Since the RAM is soldered, I'd recommend spending the extra $50 to get the 32 GB version.

Looks much better than the $150 mini PCs. They have one coming out with a Ryzen 9 and 64 GB/1TB for $800 soon. For the price, these seem like they pack quite the punch in a small form factor.

Yes, I agree. And their cooling is one of the best in these form factor PCs. I have checked several reviews and literally everybody from techTablet, ETA Prime, Linus Tech praised them (Apart from the HX90 test sample disaster where faulty samples were sent to the reviewers twice). Another thing is using custom TDP control utility, you can push them a lot over the given TDP without ibcreasing fan noise and heat much.

Almost jumped on this one until I saw it didn't have ethernet. Looks awesome and the CPU is no slouch.

***EDIT*** Watched the Youtube review and I'm in. I'll buy USB ethernet adapter.

Exactly. Not having a Gigabit Ethernet is no big deal if you have Type-C and Type-A ports. What I would suggest is that you get a proper Type-C dock or hub with it with PD and Ethernet port and they're pretty cheap these days. Something like this below:
https://www.amazon.com/Dockteck-E...B09491F17Q

Since this uses a Type-C Charger, if you don't use HUB, it will always occupy one of the USB4 port. Instead you connect this Hub to it and the connect the PD charger to the Hub. In return, you'll get couple of USB A Ports, HDMI 2.0, SD and Micro SD card slot and Gigabit Ethernet.

Very tempted to be honest. Recently built a PC with my kids and it was great to show them the parts. But this form factor is hard to pass up being so small and taking up little to no space.

Wondering if j should just get something like this rather than upgrading my CPU, motherboard and ram for my 3080? Is it a lot better than my steam deck?

I've seen some videos installing HoloISO (hacked version of SteamOS) into their PCs/laptops so I assume you can probably do it on this mini PC. I tried searching to see if there was a Windows 11 dual boot option with HoloISO but I don't believe it works together at the moment. I know there are videos on people installing Win11 on their steam deck but not the other way around (a PC w/Win11, installing HoloISO as a dual boot option).
