This is a direct drive trainer, which is about as noisy as your Echelon

It is - you can put a 12 speed cassette on there.

How does this compare to the Zwift hub?
Price of zwift hub includes a cassette.

If your SRAM 12 speed is designed for their XD/XDR freehub, then yes you need that. They also make 12s compatible with the standard shimano freehub
Sram eagle 12 speed sx and nx cassettes are compatible with the included HG driver, while gx and above use the zd driver. The chains are cross compatible so you can use an sx or nx cassette no matter what version of chain/front cranks you have.

Awesome deal! Thanks op! I'll get $90.00 back as a member. I was going to buy the the zwift hub, but the kickr core at this price, is way better.

Good deal. Wahoo has had these "refurbished" on their site for $450-500 every once in a while to compete with the Zwift Hub at $500. Zwift includes a cassette at time of purchase which is $30-50 depending if you get a 3rd party vs Shimano. I had some issues fitting my Zwift Hub with my 2016 Fuji Transonic 2.5 via QR Skewers, I have to imagine thru axle is much better. Zwift Hub has gotten some nice upgrades over the year (ie. auto calibration on each spin down w/in Zwift). DCRainMaker basically calls them as equals but would never recommend buying the Wahoo Kickr Core at MSRP.

I think zwift hub and wahoo kickr are essentially the same or very similar- there is an ongoing patent infringement lawsuit https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/...nst-zwift/

Didn't know that. Just assumed that since it is only marketed for 8, 9, 10, 11 speed, it wasn't compatible. Looks like to use it with a SRAM 12 speed, you need to buy the XD/XDR free hub for $69.
Sram NX eagle cassette is HG, as are Shimano's 12 speed road cassettes.

Which shouldn't be a problem if you are paying SRAM's obscene prices for cassettes.

I only have a mountain bike and dont wanna constantly take the wheel off to hook up. I really wanna race on Zwift, is buying this and then a used road bike the cheapest way to get on Zwift?

If you literally mean cheapest and not necessarily best, you could get a cheap wheel-on trainer, then swap the tire on your mtb with a slick tire and ride on that. It would be probably be pretty tiresome swapping tires though.

Not the cheapest but arguably a better trainer.. a cheap bike can maybe cost another 200 or so on craigslist (unless you go the walmart bike route), so it is a question of the money spent on a new bike v/s effort spent to take the wheel off the bike. I would go with the latter and use the existing bike if you aren't frequently out riding everyday

I have had a wheel on trainer which run cheaper than this, but you have to frequently calibrate, adjust the wheel's contact on the roller, make sure the tires are properly inflated, get a new tire if you don't want to use the one on your bike..just typing these out exhausts me lol. Would not recommend one unless you don't have a choice financially
