Same happened to me for a ratcheting flex head, you can call kobalt hotline and they'll honor it.
Get ready for regular price $150 and sale price $100
It was and maybe still is "LT hassle free warranty" in my experience it is a huge hassle. I had an extension break that was a part of the 300pc set. They wanted all 300pc so they could give me a new 300pc set. I just went and purchased a 3 set of extensions and returned the set of 3.

That's not right. I see single pieces taken out of sets all the time on clearance at my stores.
They were dead serious. I went to self checkout, got the 3 pc, went to the same lady and she was not pleased with me.
