I think this Is why it's on clearance and why I didn't buy it. I guess we could always get a lightning to USB-C adapter. But beyond that, I decided to wait since all of Apple's products are going USB-C. This feels like when all those 30 pin devices were on clearance before lightning was introduced.
The Amazon description also offers a "LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY: Our controller is compatible with any iPhone (iOS 7 or later) and case. With our replaceable cable, you are future proofed if Apple ever change the Lightning connection to USB-C. We're that confident, we offer a limited lifetime warranty with all our Xbox gaming controllers!"
