Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.
Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.
Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

Last July I was able to upgrade from my S21U to the S22U and get a case, Smart Tag and an LTE Galaxy Watch 4 for something like $187 after taxes. I'm hoping something like that comes up again...

1) if you received discover targeted email, activate the 5% back on $2000 purchase;
