No free memory upgrade to 512gb. With regular offer at 512GB free upgrade, it is $427 with education discount comparing to $449, hence not good deal for 512GB version. But good deal for 256GB.

The biggest upgrade is the 8gen2. I own both s22u and s23u, the s22u is constantly a hot potato while s23u is at most warm under heavy load. Other than the processor, the battery life is a huge improvement. At $200 difference probally it makes sense to upgrade but not over that.

They ship you your new phone with packing material. Some soft sheeting and a lot of cardboard that is long, shredded like a pair of 80s jeans, rolled up on the new phone. A fedex return label will be inside. You will need to tape it to the outside of the box, on top of the original label (or remove the original label and apply new one).

Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.

Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.

Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

Even though similar, almost identical, s23u is really a different model entirely over s22u.

Samsung did a disservice to themselves not differentiating enough from s23u. Of all times to keep design steady for continuity (like apple and many brands do) , this was not the time. S23U should've been when they introduced a lasting design direction. They changed so much year on year, and now they decided to be smart?

I hated s22u. Massive disappointment over s21u and i was going to change it up finally for another brand.

Due to launch deals and discounts on bundling with their laptops, it was worthwhile to give em another chance.

It's been 4 months now, and performance remains snappy (since I'm already used to it , the surprise element has faded, of course)

Battery life has decreased, and while it still lasts a day, it just makes it now. I am a heavy user. BUT, unlike s22u having max resolution was nearly impossible due to battery life, still have resolution set to max on s23u. So when battery degrades further, will simply take it down a notch.

I just received one the day this promotion came out and I paid $200 more. I went on the live chat to ask them if they could price match it or if I had to return and repurchase to get the deal. They told me the deal didn't exist but offered me a $50 promo card for a future purchase. I initiate a return and used the $50 promo towards a replacement so I got a s23 Ultra for $199 😀

The cream color version alone shows a lesser price for the 512 GB version

If I used the pick up at Best Buy option is that where my S22U would be evaluated and traded in?

I think this deal is officially dead. Even 256GB green isn't $249 anymore with s22u trade-in. Not a matter to me though. Still waiting for 512GB on sale. Otherwise, will stick to s22u.
[Correction] has to login to see the price.

I didn't have to lie to get a return. Nothing Shady about asking them to price match or returning to take advantage of a price that's hundreds of dollars less. That's what return policies are for.

I was hesitant to upgrade from S22U but now that I used it for a day this deal is good. 1. Better processor makes a difference on my phone bloated with apps. Everything is just smoother. Original did feel like Gen 1. 2. Battery ends up being at least 50% better. 3. It's much nicer to hold (flatter sides). 4. Camera is much better when it comes to video.
I went from s22 ultra to s23 ultra. Battery difference is massive. The processor is not much different in my day to day use and definitely not noticeable.

What about camera. The worst thing about the s22u is that pictures usually come out blurry with moving objects.

I think ill wait for the S24U.

It's everyone. As far as I know from two days watching this thread nobody has gotten it to stay with the shown price once it's in the cart. This is for the 512GB version, not sure about the 256GB version. Lots of chatting with reps and hearing "sorry", but they won't fix the price in the cart.

I've benefited over lots of Samsung deals over the last few years, so I won't complain too much, but the arbitrariness of their site is really, really strange.
