No. The Walmart one is about half the BTUs. This one also has a hinged lid and extra shelf.

FYI, the version being sold at BJ's Wholesale Club has a really nice, heavy, soft cover that will cover the griddle with the shelves up.

It has lower BTUs because it has the new omnivore cook top. Supposed to get just as hot with less fuel and do it more quickly.

No this one has a full hood and shelf instead of the hard cover

Any way to check inventory online at stores? My store doesn't carry it. There are others in the area.

My store said there are a ton on order by Costco so they should start arriving within the next couple of weeks. The price is listed at $399

Call your store and give the item number to customer service. They can check that and other area stores for inventory. Since this is regular price, not YMMV, calling to check inventory isn't really a risk. I saw it at the Danvers, MA Costco yesterday.

If you don't want to call, you can also initiate a live chat with Costco customer service and give them a item number and your zip code and ask them nicely if they can check which stores around you have them in stock.

I went to Costco 2 nights ago and saw one back on display. It was their last one, so I bought the floor model. No extra discount-- the manager told me he just put it out and knew he could sell it 100x over. At least I saved 3 hours on assembly. Now, time to season!

Even though the Walmart one has less btu's, the reason is because it is the new upgrade Omnivore griddle. It requires much less propane to get the griddle up to cooking twmp thus saving a lot of gas with same cook8ng reaults.

This come with anything extra vs a regular 36" ? Seems they are regularly 299 for the 36... what makes this one different?

The version sold at BJs Wholesale for $399 comes with a hard cover that rolls over the griddle, it has an extra spacious front shelf where you can store a number of items, an extremely large soft cover that will cover the griddle with the foldable shelves in the upright position, and the burners are 60,000 BTUs.
