No USB-C, 32UP83 for $30 more is a newer model and better value.

Price has been fluctuating in the last few days between $379 and $399. It was front page deal for last 2 weeks. Even at $399 its a better buy than this model.

If you're on a laptop, yes, spend the extra money for USB-C. For people with desktops PCs or Macs (like many of the professionals that this monitor is made for), USB-C is a worthless feature and it's absolutely worth nixing to save $30 (at this moment the price difference is actually $50).

Again with the superlatives. Is it an SD thing or a generation thing?

Just because it may be "worthless" for you, does not make it "worthless" for others. Someone may have a desktop setup where their electrical plug is quite far from where they are sitting or not easily accessible.

Most people don't use a monitor with their laptops, so you think they thought of the usb-c feature on a monitor with only laptop users in mind? If anything, a laptop user are more likely to have an extra usb-c port on their laptops.

Who are you to judge what is "worthless" for everyone?

The new model is also a little brighter than this model, but not sure if it is noticeable for most use case, but not sure.
