I've had my eye on this coffee grinder for some time. Imho a good deal for a very well reviewed coffee grinder

Yes because the extraction will be more consistent with a consistent grind that a burr grinder provides instead of the mix of fine grind and chunks which you are probably getting now........ thus results are repeatable/consistent... BTW I use this very grinder and it works awesome.
Chiming in due to my deal alert email. I bought this one from another SD and love it.
I read a tip that helps if you have static (it depends on the beans moisture/oil content). I sometimes wet my hand and allow 3-5 drops of water to drip into the measuring cup of beans.

Another tip for this grinder is that I tap it while it is about done with the batch to aid in getting all you can to come out of the dispenser. Even then you will have a little settling effect after a few hours to overnight.
The next time you start it (with or without adding beans) that will come out. This can be discarded if you are not grinding often or are wanting the freshest results. It usually is about a tsp or so that you will see come out then. I have tried to get this to go ahead and come out when I initially grind by shaking/tapping but so far, I'm not able to get it all until later. That could be due to a little extra moisture taking time to dry up.
So maybe it is a balancing act between that and static. Whatever the case, this is a great grinder and not a messy one.
Bought this last time it was on sale. If you like coffee this is a great grinder!

The Oxo 8 cup coffee maker is also on sale for $122, this matches (within a couple dollars) previous FP deals.

I've always used my blender to grind coffee beans.(currently using a Vitamix and previously a Blendtec)

However, I've also heard that a dedicated burr grinder like this yields "better-tasting" coffee. Is this really true?

Thanks! Smilie

thanks!

I guess there's no harm in ordering this OXO grinder and doing a blind test! Smilie

are there other interesting uses for it, besides grinding coffee? just wondering. Smilie

Cannot recommend. Mine broke twice in a couple months. Great customer service though.

I brew my own beans light to medium roast. My last grinder was capresso and was a champ for eight years, although i hear the quality has gone down.
