"Spend $100+ to prune aggressively when it's not necessary!"

There's a reason people use loppers for small branches - they cut cleanly and reduce the opportunity for disease. Using a mini chainsaw, while fast, often makes a mess of cutting small branches (bark tearing, splitting, etc).. they're better reserved for the ~2-5" branches loppers aren't intended for.

If buying loppers, get the extendable ones! They're great, and the most durable loppers Fiskars has ever made. But you'll want to hurry as they are too durable, so they're discontinuing and/or redesigning them (which seems to happen often to durable inexpensive things.)

The extendable ones I had would never stay at one length long enough to make a cut. Sounds like Fiskars realizes there is a problem.

I saw these in store but did not look closely - is this the same looper? If so I will go back and hope my store still has them in stock.

IF you have military discount, this lopper with "titanium coated blade" (blade is painted a different color Big Grin) is the same price at Home Depot, with no discount this golden bling version is $2 more: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Fiska.../202589054

According to CamelCamelCamel, these have been at this price since 2017-or-so.

For MSRP comparison, their 32-inch bypass lopper (10/10 would recommend) sells for just under $50 normally.

Here's the Costco product if you can get it to load (takes a few tries to get it to stick), though it's out of stock anyway, if you do.

Or just use a mini chainsaw. Faster and easier on the hands.
Find cheap ones or expensive ones to fit your taste.
I'll never go back to loopers again.

Dont play the Costco game. People claimed Costco had the 3 piece (2 loppers and 1 scissors) kit at Costco that was on sale last month and wasted peoples time/gas. Two of my local Costcos didnt have anything by Fiskars in stock. Just because Costco sold something in the spring of 2021 doesnt mean they carry it all the time. Get the item number these people claim Costco has, call and make sure they actually do have it in stock.
