I get that you can often get gift cards cheaper at other places - like Sam's Club, or Costco - but they're almost always "sets" of cards, e.g. 4 $25 gift cards for $80 or whatever.
However, it's extremely inconvenient keeping track of all of the individual cards. I would much rather buy a $100 gift card for Dominos for $85 and only have one card to keep track of, versus having four individual cards floating around that I have to keep track of. It gets so tedious when you are at the end of one card and need to start using multiple cards. It's just not worth the headache.
I want to buy a $500 gift card for Academy Sports but I don't want to run into the scam.

One thing that always holds me back on some of the gift card discounts, is the idea of paying tax twice, when I buy the gift card and when I buy the merch.
