I picked up the cheaper version of these last month (MM-5) and I'm super happy with them for the open box price of 78 that I paid. They sound great and I'm using them for computer speakers. I probably would have picked these up instead on the above open box price if I knew they made some with optical-in

The tweeters on these are surprisingly good. Unfortunately, the woofers can best be described as "muddy"; I never really knew what people meant when talking about woofers that "couldn't keep up" until I heard these, which is why I sent them back. If they were even slightly better they'd be a fantastic deal for the price.

Yeah, I picked up the MM3's for computer speakers and they are great!

I do kinda need another set of studio monitors, these may be an option.

I recently bought an open box sub and confirmed with monoprice it's the same replacement warranty but shorter return period. Unfortunately I assume if you pay for shipping on open box you lose that on a return
