Brushless motors tend to last longer and are more efficient (longer battery life). I own this set and the brushless versions are much better build quality and performance. That being said these would be fine for a hobbyist or homeowner.

All the other posts telling you the advantages of brushless are correct. However, it is worth pointing out that pros used brushed tools for years without a problem.

Honestly, for $100 more, I think the 8 tool set is a better value. You get the extra tool and (3) 4ah batteries instead of (2) 3ah batteries.

Milwaukee makes a great tool, but for the average DIY er, go with Ryobi and you'll be fine.

Completely agree. I actually bought the 7 tool a month ago, saw the 8 tool sale the same night and bought it and returned the 7 tool. I love it

Upgraded from Sears Craftsman set 3 years ago to Milwaukee and steadily eating away at my funds..lol..just spent another $250 this year to get upgraded batteries and brushless impact hex driver, but well worth it.
