TCL has a 10 bit panel, the Hisense is a 8 bit. 16.7 million colors vs 1.07 billion, and instead of 256 gradient shades 1,024 for the TCL.

I have a 77 inch LG C2 and i'm still gonna be the first person to thumb this comment down. This isn't entry level. This isn't a $300 tv. Don't just say stuff on these forums just to be saying it.

You seem very emotionally invested in trying to prove that TCL is low-budget for some very odd reason.

If people want to buy the TV, let them.
There are plenty of sites available for others to use to compare. Funny enough, most of those sites show that TCL TVs consistently score at the same level as other brands that cost much, much more (and that's at TCL's retail vs the sale price of other brands). Actually, most mid-level LG / Sony / Samsung TVs cost the same as this and perform remarkably worse. And if you're truly hating on TCL's support and longevity, you definitely haven't had any recent experience with Samsung's customer support. Essentially you're paying more for a brand name with less performance, with just as bad (if not worse) support.

And as an owner of an OLED, I would never blindly recommend someone to just go OLED instead of MiniLED. OLED is great for some scenarios and really terrible for others.

So, is this supposed to be TCL's current best? Need to upgrade a quite outdated TV for my PS5 and was planning to get a Sony for the Sony. Or a high end Hisense.

I want it, the 85, but now I'm invested in a 77 a80j oled and nobody is buying used tv's especially not in the middle of nowhere on the oregon coast.

I have the 65 inch 2020 8 series that was one of the first tvs with Mini-LED. It's a very good TV still. The only gripe I have is they should've put one hdmi 2.1 on it. Other than that it still hangs with these newer models.

You should really check your facts first. TCL makes some of the highest rated TVs around these days. Sure they also have much cheaper budget tier models, but so does everyone else.
