Not a deal at all. Silicon Power XS70 2tb is still on sale for $99 on Amazon, and it has higher specs and comes with a heatsink.

This has dram of 2gb, and is a double sided nvme so it won't work in some applications than need single sided nvme.

Plus, it's not a crappy PNY brand drive. Have had nothing but issues with PNY brand from thumb drives to SSDs. Garbage quality.

They've downgraded the components, plus the drive runs extremely hot.

It's actually a wash between the two, the new controller is a tad faster overall, but loses out in random access, but not by much. I don't know, TBW 1400 for the 2TB model is 200 more than a WD Black SN850X (my main drive). I'm actually contemplating getting a 2TB XS70 now as a second drive for my B650E build.

I just read the replaced controller is sort of equivalent to the old one. But in that combination of controller and nand, there have been premature nand failures for other brands of the same combo.

I don't know, I don't intend to use that as my main drive, it's going to be loaded with games only, so I don't think it's going to be a problem for my use case.
