is this some sort of joke? why would you pay $400 for a cast iron skillet? people search for things to waste money on i guess.
You can buy one of the best available and made in the USA *not china like all yeti... for $200 or less. Smithey.com

Agreed $400 is crazy and Smithey at $200 is a much better "value" but I just looked into Butter Pat Industries who makes these for Yeti and a 12" is $345 so the mark up isn't quite as steep as first glance. My brother in law has a Smithey he loves, I have a 80 year old Griswold with a slight warp I am happy with. I'd likely go Smithey or something like that over Lodge if I were to replace my Griswold.
Edit 1) Butter Pat seems to be significantly lighter than other cast iron. Lodge and Smithey 12" are ~8lbs while Butter Pat is 6.9lbs.
Edit 2) Just read an article comparing them on Gear Patrol and Butter Pat seems pretty cool. Can't justify the cost but basically they use a proprietary casting technique to get a super smooth surface and very thin walls so its a lot lighter and potentially more nonstick than other cast iron. Its also funny Yeti doesn't really talk about any of the things that truly set it apart from Smithey or Finex.

What you all do not know is that there is a gold sprinkled in the iron which is what makes it different. Given how the feds are printing money, this pan is worth its weight in.... gold.

The best value is either the cheapest cast iron pan you find or a LODGE if you want a bit more of an established name. Everything else is a company marketing to people who are willing to defend either their expensive purchase of defend the process of casting iron as if it hasn't been done for SO LONG.
Smithey isn't special. Butter Pat isn't Special. YETI is the most brazen absolutely immoral cash grab and they are literally copy pasting "Designed by pros with amazing benefits we are unwilling to explain" on IG.
None the less - thanks for posting OP. I thumbs up even though of course its a horrible deal

This makes the $230 Dollywood 25lb apple pie that comes with the cast iron skillet look like a steal.
