One of the best ways to get AAA Switch games cheaper is to watch for eshop gift card deals. You can get $100 for $80 or $50 for $40 at Costco about once a quarter.

This is about as cheap as it gets for digital copies of first party Nintendo games no matter how old they are.

good price (for a Nintendo title) but an even better game. if you liked Metroid in the past, or were curious about it in the present, you can't do better than Dread. i loved this. cool world, challenging enemies, good soundtrack.

Probably the most frustrating thing about Nintendo. But if the demand is there, I can't blame them

No thanks, I'd rather play it in 4K for free on my computer
Oh yeah? Well I'm going to play it in my Tesla in autopilot mode on the highway while racing Sonic, all with my eyes closed.

Because QUALITY. Nintendo is Disney and Apple of video games, you'll pay reasonable amount and you'll get quality.

Just a quick side note for everyone, this is not an easy game, it'll definitely help if you have any of the amiibos or Amiipad.

It's crazy to me that you can't buy any digital games @eshop unless there's a switch registered to your account. And you guessed it... no e-gifting either. Nintendo needs to get woke!

nah they give trivial advantage and mostly collectibles, you can buy a generic amiibo and program it as any amiibo ever made if ya want

LOL Metroid Dread is as far from pay to win as you can get.

I'm playing through the game right now. Man, am I finding it difficult. I had to switch to using a dedicated hand-held controller to beat a boss. Then too I kinda cheated. In the sense, I'm using the 8bitdo ultimate Bluetooth controller; so I programmed the back buttons to crouch down. Without that I kept dying because I couldn't reliably crouch down in time to avoid getting hit. Considering I'm getting too old to play difficult platformers and my reaction times are not what they used to be 20 years ago, I'll allow myself that 'cheat'.

I'm less than midway through. Unfortunately, I'm lost at the moment. Spent the last few gaming hours roaming about aimlessly across multiple areas, trying to figure out where to go and what to do next. Decided to take a break for a few days and return to it later. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. I know the game is known for not holding your hand. That's part of the challenge. So I can't blame the designers. It's an intentional choice they made. But personally, considering I get only limited time to play games, I do wish it weren't this way.
