Hi Kiki, Jimmy Carter is so nice in person. He really enjoys talking with people. He used to sign at Borders in Westwood right after he went on the Tonight Show. For some reason, whenever I got up to see him he would want to tell me all about his visit with Jay. I was tripping out as in the President is actually talking to me lol. This was a long time ago and I doubt that he is still doing signings.

Anything y'all refuse to buy unless it's on sale or BOGO?

Vacation was nice but sooooooo hot. We knew it would be, but it's hard to understand how hot it will feel until you actually feel it. Now I really understand what so many people are going through in this record-breaking heat.

Isn't there another bookstore in NJ where a lot of famous people sign? I'm not sure about now. The book business has really changed since I was in it. Back then, you had signings every day and almost every author was on tour. There was a Barnes and Noble in NY that had a lot of signings. I went there while I was at Book Expo one year to check it out. I went up to the third floor and they had a huge room where you could look out a giant window and watch the world go by. You could spend hours there. It was a famous place but I forget what it was called.

Most of the really good signings were in San Francisco and New York. Los Angeles got some but if an author/celebrity/famous person was only doing one signing, it wouldn't be here.

I've never been to NJ. A bunch of people went after Book Expo but I was too tired and went back to the hotel.

I'm going to sign off from here for a little bit. I went to my doctor's appointment on Thursday and they called another code on me and took me by ambulance to the ER. I stayed overnight and they did a bunch of tests on me and they let me go home late Friday afternoon. I missed two great days of RA shopping because of the hospital stay. I tried to shop yesterday but it was a total fail. The new drugs are worse than the old ones. They initially thought that I had another heart attack because of my troponin level but when it stabilized they thought it was heart failure but then I passed the stress test and echo so I don't know what it was. I was retaining water so they gave me a Lasix IV. Guys, you never want that. You'll be living in the bathroom for the next 24 hours. I've never peed so much in my life. I probably lost 10 pounds. As part of the stress test, they give you a generic version of Boost. I had the vanilla one. It actually wasn't that bad warm and I'm sure that it's better cold. I have a mountain of Boost here and I might start drinking it. I have a lot going on in the next few weeks including surgery at the end of the month. I may have another surgery sooner if I take a test that they want me to do but I think that I'm going to pass for now. One surgery is enough to think about. I'll come back when I recover from my surgery and I'm able to shop again. I need to spend all of my store money this week because I don't know how long that I'll be out for. I wish there was a way to put it on hold. RA should have a way to convert Bonus Cash back to points which would give me 3 months before I had to spend it. A month seems like a long time but it's not when you have medical issues. Since RA is a drugstore, they should factor this in. This is just my opinion. Please nobody fight me about this lol. There are way too many fights on here. Maybe it's because they deals are so bad and everybody is stressed out about it. Or the weather. It's been absolutely miserable. Or how high the prices are on everything. It's crazy. I have to take out a loan to eat at McDonald's. Pretty soon the basic cheeseburger will be 10 bucks and it will still taste awful.
