Contemplating returning mine for something with a discrete GPU for my future needs (picking up the ryzen version with the 3050 today to compare), but if I didn't need that I would almost certainly keep it.

AMD version of the 14" is probably better yet if all you need is dedicated GPU and don't want something chunky/full powered.
Careful with some of their workstation models, some come with privacy guard/filter which distorts the normal screen even when off. I almost bit on a model the other day but it had that feature tucked in at the end of the detail list.
I've never seen one in person. I'll avoid privacy screen but then i also want anti glare fast display 400-500 nits which i don't know if thinkpads offer.
I think it's perfectly adequate and in line with what I was expecting, I'm not really monitoring it or feeling the need to be near a charger when I do use it unplugged.
My other laptops are MacBooks, so definitely shorter battery life comparatively. Might do a side by side YouTube test if I have some time to compare the intel vs amd.
- slightly larger screen on the AMD (14.5"), I like having that little bit of extra room.
-The intel has slightly higher resolution, but I can't tell the difference between 2.5k and 2.8k at this screen size…both look great to me.
- trackpad is larger on the AMD than the intel version (diagonal measurement is .5" longer). Not hugely so, but noticeable.
-wifi download speeds seem to be slower…was downloading some software on both of them side by side and noticed the speed was sometimes half as much as the intel model…idk if this is due to the mediatek module that AMDs use, haven't really looked into this.
- the screen color looks warmer on the AMD compared to the intel. Maybe this is due to being 350 nits vs the intel's 400? Not sure, but I prefer the cooler tones on the intel screen when placed side by side…don't really notice it if I am not comparing them.
-small amounts of backlight bleed on both screens
-intel (to me) is brighter…I don't use these outdoors or in bright environments so to me 350 vs 400 nits is mostly a wash unless comparing side by side.
- AMD was quiet and cool during normal productivity work…I was getting 45-50 C on the integrated graphics sensor while in use…no fans spinning during my regular use (visual studio code, internet explorer, Microsoft office etc).
- played a few games of league of legends at highest settings, lowest FPS when things were crowded on the screen was about 120fps…otherwise bounced between 140-280fps…this is the extent of gaming I do so the 3050 is perfectly adequate for my needs and a big step up from my last computer. Needless to say, This isn't the computer to buy if you are primarily interested in gaming…but it's a great compromise for a casual player like myself.
-Fans are constantly spinning while playing, not any louder than any other computer with a GPU I reckon…After 45 minutes the GPU was reading 65-68 C, not terribly hot.
- The biggest difference I immediately noticed was with the keyboards. The AMD has scalloped keys that are sort of scooped out on top (very slight) , whereas the intel keys as far as I can tell are flat on top. The AMD feels much nicer to type on, and (to me) provides noticeably better feedback. Idk if the key travel is different between the two, but the AMD just felt significantly better to type on in terms of feedback when pushing a key and fingers fitting onto the scalloped shape better. I didn't expect this going in, but this difference alone is making me want to keep the AMD model…I now hate the keyboard on the intel, which feels more slippery and mushy and leaves me guessing at times if I hit a key.
I haven't done any battery comparisons or tried to game on the intel model yet, might try that tonight.
-charging Brick on the AMd is much larger due to the GPU…the one for the intel model is like a large phone charger.
-the intel body is mostly sharper edges, whereas the bottom half of the AMd is more rounded (like the yoga line if you are familiar with those)
-intel is light gray, amD is a dark space gray.
-no fingerprint reader on the AmD, not important to me.
Atm Leaning towards keeping the AmD version mostly due to the keyboard and the flexibility of having the GPU…just wish it had the 1TB hard drive instead of 512gb

While the Flex 5 is $175 cheaper, this Slim 7i has a better screen (1800p 400 nits 120Hz vs 1200p 300 nits 60Hz), faster RAM (LPDDR5-5200MHz vs LPDDR4x-4266MHz), double the storage (1TB vs 512GB), includes a Win Pro license, and weights a bit less. Going with the Slim 7i.
Btw, where is the fingerprint reader on this?
