Deal aside, I use this hockey puck on my Dell XPS 13 9310, and it works well.

I know that might sound weird, but surprisingly, you never know.

I have a different Dell dock from work. After I updated it's firmware, it works well with my PC and my Macbook.

It has a rare feature that's passthrough of video signal (DisplayPort 1.4 2-lane, max 4K 60Hz - more than marketed 4K 30Hz) through the USB-C port to a monitor.

You can also daisy-chain it to another USB-C video adapter with power input. It functions similar to the USB-C video port on the back of HP Thunderbolt Dock G2.

This is a bit of niche product. Basically is made for people with laptops that need to go into the office and plug into different presentation systems where there might be VGA, HDMI, etc. But I don't know how realistic that even is. From my experience almost everyone has moved over to either having an adapter already available for the screen/projector or they're using display port / hdmi / display port over usb C already. I haven't seen a vga cable in a long time. That space would be better used with more USB C ports.

It has 4 video outputs, but supports only 1 display at one time. Pass.

You're completely missing the point. Ever heard of USB-C DisplayPort (DP) Alt Mode? Start there. It's the future of mobility.

if you don't care about size, get an used Dell WD19 or WD19TBS from eBay, for roughly the same money.
Some of the units are actually still under warranty from Dell.
Enter the serial shown on the dock's sticker, from the eBay auction at dell.com to verify.

Works with other brands (I use mine with a HP laptop), only Dell specific feature is the power button *on* the dock.

Think you can use up to three screens simultaneously..

Thought this might be a viable dongle for connecting an Xreal Air to a Steam Deck while still allowing power, but it just moves the same problem to the dongle since only one port is for PD or display.

My Dell tablet only has USB C ports. I have to use this every time I go present something nearly everywhere I go. Virtually no one has USB C display connectors to projectors or conference room systems.
