I got some off brand ones like these and they smelled horribly of chemicals. Not what I want in my food. Returned and ordered the Oxo brand. Worth the extra few bucks hands down.

Last time I looked into something like this (a tray instead of individual cups) it had a rather low temperature threshold. Lower than the baking temp for the muffins I usually make. Which also meant the dishwasher on high temp was out as well. I didn't find out until it was past the return time, my own fault there.

My thoughts exactly. More expensive, hard to clean, and the thin paper cups are disposable and degradable. So many more things on SD (I also don't need) to blow my money on! 😂

I'm sure you're right, but what's you're way of telling with these cheap products on Amazon? Is it something just as simple as not being "platinum silicone"? I've always wondered, because they all just say "food grade" regardless of what they're actually made of
