I agree that he packaging is insanely good..
I bought the x18 Exos (18tb ) because of the lower price point (Exos < $10/ TB). I do feel that the prices of drives will continue to fall and I'm waiting for the x20 Exos (20tb to drop below $10/TB price point )

(5tb drives came from shuck WD, the 10TB are also shuck drives.. all CMR/PMR)
Decided to buy a 920+ Synology NAS about 18 months ago.. at that point in time the cost of drives was crazy high so i used 4 old hdd and man are those suckers noisy.
I'm still testing the 18tb drive from this deal..
(seagateTool via USB bootable, took 27hrs to complete the "Long" test)
both HDD pass
The next set of test I'm performing is the Write/Read test using "h2testw"
(it states 18 hours)
I'll be buying more later as prices drop..
how long have you had them running for and in what kinda of environment ?
Would buy again, and seriously considering this deal now.
These are not the 1.5TB Barracudas that burned a lot of us, especially me. I was off of Seagates for a long time after. But I also lost a lot of those WD Green drives as well.
My Exos have been rock solid. Good temps. All show He filled. Had 3 of them over a year.
