Since I just published a deal the 3060 ti reference card, I figured I should also do a 4060 ti for someone that wanted this card instead.

As long as the benchmarks aren't abnormally low I'll probably buy the 4060ti 16GB. Buying an 8GB card, no matter how good right now, just seems like you're begging for a mandatory upgrade within 2 years time, especially as devs lean more on hardware instead of optimization. I'm content with 1080p gaming so I reckon the 4060ti 16GB will have me set for a few years.
The benchmarks will be extremely similar to the 4060 Ti 8GB which are abnormally low for a next gen card! Please don't be part of the problem.

I just listed other uses that the 3060 ti doesn't have
DLSS3 and AV1... because those 16gb are not free and efficiency for such low power is also the bare minimum

it will perform exactly like the 8gb model.... only with 16gb which would mostly benefit professional workloads but the card is also too weak for 16gb unless you are doing giant lumion projects

For someone upgrading from an older GPU before the 3000 series one would think the 4060 ti with 16gb vram be a good investment next month, so far tests have shown it to outperform the 3060 ti in many games, plus use of DLSS 3 sounds good while also outside of gaming AV1 support, 16gb vram for rendering, and lower energy usage seems good to me.
No, the performance is horrible.... The memory bus and the slow gddr6 memory is way too slow to make use of 16gb.

Please just get the the 4070. It will be a much better experience.

They could put a TB of vram on the 4060ti, the performance is going to be the same 😭. Memory bandwidth is like 200 gbs. 8gb is the correct vram for that card.

You are correct. 16GB on this card adds very little for the $$$.

Also, I wouldn't buy a 3070 Ti unless it was cheaper than this. Raw performance is maybe 5-10% better, but the 4060 Ti is more efficient and has frame generation which is a big boost in some games.
