I suspect on this model you just push the steam button then start button and steam up the amount of milk you want.

This unit doesn't have the milk reservoir, so it's easier cleanup. The LatteGo has a milk container that is dishwasher safe. On my LatteGo I only use the milk reservoir a few times a year when we have company over. It's all americanos and espresso shots for my wife and I.

The unit for sale is an absolute strong recommendation at this price if you're looking for an easy to use super automatic and have minimal use case for milk based beverages. Dump decent beans and water in, plug it in, and you get solid coffee.

Which doesn't seem quite accurate, as neither the 1200 nor 2200 (non Lattego) even have a milk carafe, let alone an "XL" sized one.

If I pore through images and product descriptions on various sites, I think the main differences between the three are:
-all three are AquaClean compatible, but only the 2200 actually includes the AquaClean filter. The 800 and 1200 don't show it installed in the water tank in the 3/4 view, and some sites say it is sold separately (about $30 on Amazon).
-the 800 has more black trim than chrome trim, namely the drip tray grille and around where the coffee comes out. The 2200 also has additional chrome bezel around the touch display. I suspect the materials might be more plasticky than metal-ly for the black trim vs chrome bits...

I suspect the innards, esp the brew group, ceramic grinder, etc, are essentially the same from the 800 all the way up to the 5400, a lot of the internal replacement parts are the same across the lineup. Mainly a matter of drink selection options and customization of settings....

Does the internal mechanism pop out so the owner can wash it?

Yes, the brew group can be (and is recommended to) removed to clean and lubricate periodically. Personally I have a LatteGo 3200 but the brew group in this unit appears identical to mine. If my unit breaks any time soon I would happily purchase this one. The wand steamer provides additional options for milk based coffee over the LatteGo.

Does it auto steam the milk or do you still have to use the right method? Also how is cleaning the milk reservoir? Thanks

I have two of this line (Carina and one of the higher end ones with LatteGo). They're great.

I owned two of a predecessor for about ten years (Saeco Intuita) - both still work and I put one in my employees' break room and gave one away. One is still running without any parts, one needed a pump change ($30 and an hour). The guts are basically the same between this and the ten year old machine. Brew group is interchangeable and pump is slightly upgraded on the newer models (same pressure, just rated for a higher duty cycle). Most non-enthusiast machines (i.e., anything you'd likely buy if you are considering a superauto for the first time) use the same commodity pumps (Ulka).

These are solid, very low maintenance machines. The newer ones don't really require regular brew group cleaning (the older ones did better with a rinse every week or two). I run RO water in mine and literally never descale. Can't recommend these enough.

Thanks a ton, I truly appreciate your advice. So you're able to get solid drinkable straight shots with yours without having to use crazy beans?

I have a full setup with grinder + machine, I've just gotten too lazy to use it. I struggled to even pull good shots with that, so if this thing can produce solid shots with just decent coffee then Im sold.

Thanks for your insight!

I bought one, coming in this Tuesday! Can't wait. Initially I liked lattego version and were eyeing them for a while but for this price I rather make the beverages manually myself lol and save 300 400 bucks that was going for 3200!

I rotate through Lavazza's Gran Crema, Super Crema, and Rosso when I can get them on sale. There are regular deals on them every few months. I usually get 6-24 kilos when the prices drop. Amazon has very acceptable dating on their bags. We drink a kilo bag every 2 weeks or so. Work usually drinks a kilo a week (we also have a LatteGo at work…highly caffeinated employees usually accomplish more🤣🤣🤣). I veer away from the super dark roasts as they are not my jam. I've never had a bad bag of Lavazza.

We have the higher $900-1000 model looks just like this. We use it for 6 drinks a day for maybe a year now and still no problem. Good workhorse so far. If I was being picky, I'd want even stronger shots but who knows dedicated machines may not be much different

I have the Carina which is very similar to this. 3 years and no issues with daily use. I rinse the brew group once per week and lubricate it every six months.

How does the coffee taste compare to the nespresso machine? Would anyone recommend this machine over any nespresso machine?

Nespresso and Kuerig are pretty poor overall. They just have grounds in a cup and you pay $$$

For any home machine whether it's drip, espresso, etc the beans will make the biggest difference. Find a bean than you like, preferably from a local roaster
