This unit doesn't have the milk reservoir, so it's easier cleanup. The LatteGo has a milk container that is dishwasher safe. On my LatteGo I only use the milk reservoir a few times a year when we have company over. It's all americanos and espresso shots for my wife and I.
The unit for sale is an absolute strong recommendation at this price if you're looking for an easy to use super automatic and have minimal use case for milk based beverages. Dump decent beans and water in, plug it in, and you get solid coffee.
If I pore through images and product descriptions on various sites, I think the main differences between the three are:
-all three are AquaClean compatible, but only the 2200 actually includes the AquaClean filter. The 800 and 1200 don't show it installed in the water tank in the 3/4 view, and some sites say it is sold separately (about $30 on Amazon).
-the 800 has more black trim than chrome trim, namely the drip tray grille and around where the coffee comes out. The 2200 also has additional chrome bezel around the touch display. I suspect the materials might be more plasticky than metal-ly for the black trim vs chrome bits...
I suspect the innards, esp the brew group, ceramic grinder, etc, are essentially the same from the 800 all the way up to the 5400, a lot of the internal replacement parts are the same across the lineup. Mainly a matter of drink selection options and customization of settings....

I was able to grab my used Magnifica for $100 used on CL but they normally go for $400-$700 used locally. Ebay also sells similar used models for $400-$700.
It is prudent that all super autos require regular maintenance by placing food grade grease around the piston o rings every so often. The experts on youtube say once a month but for most people, once or twice a year should be enough. This is so that the transmission which doesn't break when there's additional resistance from a dry rubber gasket rubbing along the piston walls. Imagine a car engine with no oil, the same thing happens in these machines.

So after digging through a bunch of videos, it seems this is NOT the piston, and is actually fixed in place. One obscure Saeco video, and a number of third-party videos, provided the clarity that the moving piston is actually on the other side, moves and pushes the grinds chamber UP and around the large red o-ring, and against the silver mesh screen. However, this is deep inside the housing, so neither the piston nor presumably o-rings as it slides, are at all visible nor really accessible. The Saeco monthly lubrication guide seems to point to grease at three points:
1. the piston - but since the piston is not really accessilble, it's really the exposed part of the piston shaft, presumably slides against other plastic, and wouldn't seem to lubricate the o-rings themselves.
2. the shaft - this is the very end of the piston shaft, farthest away from the piston itself
3. the rails - side rails for the length of the piston travel, where there is plastic sliding on plastic, but not o-rings.
4. not in the Saeco guide, but some others suggest to grease the camshaft and the end of the shaft, where there is plastic on plastic rotation
What is even more curious is that there are NO first-party videos/guides from Jura, Delonghi, Miele on end-user lubrication schedule of the brew unit, and hardly a third-party video either. Many piston o-ring kits come with a tube of grease, but this is for technician servicing/disassembly/rebuild of the brew group, to ensure proper seating of the o-rings, and not for any regular end-user maintenance. I found ONE third-party video of Delonghi piston o-ring lubrication, but even this required partial disassembly of 3-4 parts to slide the piston out - not something Delonghi would leave in the hands of the typical end-user.
My general thoughts:
1. Lubrication of o-rings is not to help create a tight seal; it is the compression of o-ring's against two flat surfaces, or between a cylinder and cylinder wall, that creates the seal, if properly seated. Initial lubrication helps ensure the o-ring is properly seated, and ongoing can help reduce abrasion/rubbing/friction that could abrade/degrade the o-ring material/shape.
2. Saeco/Philips/Gaggia (same brew unit) seems to be the rare manufacturer to have a monthly end-user lubrication schedule, it's for the plastic-on-plastic moving parts only, not for o-rings. Others don't seem to have it, but also seems like Philips schedule is precautionary, and can get away with doing far less frequently - like once/year.
3. Neither Philips nor any of the manufacturers seem to have any end-user lubrication schedule on the piston o-ring's, I think because they are fairly inaccessible without partial or full service disassembly of the brew unit. I don't disagree with the suggestion that doing it once a year is prudent, just that vast majority of end-users won't/can't do it, unless they send machine to a technician for servicing.
4. The big fat red o-ring on the Saeco/Philips is NOT the piston o-ring, and is not part of their end-user lubrication schedule. But it doesn't hurt to occasionally lubricate it (with food-grade grease). I've never done so in 10 years, ha ha..
With Saeco/Philips having a monthly end-user lubrication schedule, and the other makers not really, I don't consider owning a Saeco/Philips to be necessarily more onerous, and I've gotten by with just once/year. It seems more precautionary to extend the service life in fact I don't think the plastic-on-plastic parts would wear out themselves even after 10,000 cycles normally. In fact, I'd say the grease is more to keep wet/dry coffee grinds from building up and increasing friction, or from getting lodged between the plastic parts, which could act like fine sandpaper between the moving plastic parts. There is a lot of coffee grinds that can accumulate, which the weekly rinsing theoretically removes, but given the wet grinds are oily/clumpy, it doesn't always just fall off running water under the faucet....
And in an earlier post, I mentioned the Saeco/Phlips brew unit is pretty reasonably-priced, not really a financial burden to abuse it, and then replace it outright, if needed.
