This takes some gymnastics which people may not fully understand.

Activate the new phone by itself, create a new Tracfone/rewards account use your primary account referral code. Your new account will get 2500pts, you get 5000pts (or more). On day 61 when all points vest, unlock the new phone, and use 2500pts in the new account to buy 2GB of data leaving you 500pts. Then move this new line to your primary account, and merge services into your main line.

Summary: your main line is plus 10 months/1500 min/1500 text/3500 MB data, and you harvest 5000+pts.

Worse than before? Of course! Decent deal as is? Yep!

OPs answer to your question is wrong. You can select existing customer during activation so you can transfer your existing number and minutes to this phone. Then the plan time and the minutes/data will get merged together. I've done it many times and it works just fine.

Do you have to keep the line active for those 60 days? Can you activate the line and then merge it to an existing tracfone line and still able to unlock in 60?

They sent me an email that a promo code was removed from my order and charged me the full $136... damn I didn't know they could charge you more after placing the order and paying for it.

Thank you for the tips. I think I will buy a Moto Stylus + filler. My current account has 480 pts, if I refer phone 2 to phone 1. I wonder if I have enough points to buy 1 extra month service. Would you recommend I buy now and wait to activate, or wait until Aug to buy? I love my Samsung phone, but can't root it. Too bad Moto Stylus does not support "Ready For". Any suggestion what can I use the Moto phone for? Any chance I can buy a HDMI adapter to hook up a monitor and bluetooth keybd and mouse with Termux? Wishful thinking. But seriously, maybe I can run pi-hole and route all IoT to it on guest wifi.
