Moto G Power II with 4gb ram and 64gb memory for $10 more...
https://www.qvc.com/Tracfone-65%2...sc=NAVLIST
This takes some gymnastics which people may not fully understand.

Activate the new phone by itself, create a new Tracfone/rewards account use your primary account referral code. Your new account will get 2500pts, you get 5000pts (or more). On day 61 when all points vest, unlock the new phone, and use 2500pts in the new account to buy 2GB of data leaving you 500pts. Then move this new line to your primary account, and merge services into your main line.

Summary: your main line is plus 10 months/1500 min/1500 text/3500 MB data, and you harvest 5000+pts.

Worse than before? Of course! Decent deal as is? Yep!
OPs answer to your question is wrong. You can select existing customer during activation so you can transfer your existing number and minutes to this phone. Then the plan time and the minutes/data will get merged together. I've done it many times and it works just fine.

Since I bought 2 phones, if I activate 2 individually, how many points I can get for 2 referal, 6000 or 12000?
If you are currently a Tracfone customer (account 1) and you plan to create two accounts 2 and 3 and you have not done any previous referrals: Account 1 will get 5000 for the first referral and 6000 for the second referral. Accounts 2 and 3 will each get 2500. If anyone tells you a new account will get more than 2500, they are using outdated information.

If you are new to Tracfone, you need a referral code from someone else. Your first account will get 2500, but then you can refer the second account, which gives 5000 to the first and 2500 to the second.

Keep in mind that Tracfone does not allow self-referrals, so they may take away points without any notice if that's what they think you are doing. You don't get to explain that the second account is for your grandma or whoever.

60 days is the earliest you can unlock. you are ok to unlock after 90 days, 120 days, 1 year...make sense?
Oh thanks. Actually I mean do I have to be constantly connected to the network? Cos I won't be able to connect while overseas. Do they count the no. of days connected?

all you need is turn on once and make call. Then 60 days later can unlock.

What if after making a call I merge this new line with my existing Tracfone line (without waiting 60 days). Will it still let me unlock the phone in 60 days?

And will this add a year of service to my existing line from today or from the day the service on the existing line ends? Say, my existing line has the service through Sep 1, 2023, will merging increase it through June 28, 2024 or September 1, 2024?

I'm Not sure. I have not merged line. I did activated a locked tf to replace a old phone on my line and it unlocked after 60 days.

The phone will not unlock if you immediately transfer the service. It will add a year of service to your service end date. You will not lose minutes.

If I immediately transfer, is there a way to later unlock the phone?

Can I use another tracfone line sim in this phone for 60 days to unlock it?

In the past, I have purchased a new iPhone from Tracfone and activated it on an existing line. The phone unlocked 60 days later. The unlock isn't automatic with all phones, but I suspect the basic rules that apply should be the same. (Not sure if it matters, but I actually called to activate the new phone on my existing line … I didn't just swap the sim. I think you can try activating the new phone on the existing line through the web portal also, but you sometimes need to call.)

I think the automatic unlock is unique to iPhones. They will unlock 60 days after initial activation, whether they are still active or not. Android phones need to remain active for the entire 60 days (or, at the very least, they need to be active ON day 60/61), and you need to request the unlock codes and enter them manually into the phone.

Yeah, I think I've heard the auto unlock is an iPhone thing. But I've done several iPhones through them and one didn't unlock automatically, but the unlock department still pushed through an unlock request for me even though I only had 30 days of service and then let it expire (when calling unlock dept directly, not CS). Others have also reported the same with a few phones that didn't get it automatically in one of the iPhone threads, although not every rep seems do it and it took a couple of calls for some. While I haven't tried getting an Android unlock code from them, it seems odd that they would push through a manual unlock request for an iPhone but not an Android phone, given the same situation (although again, I've seen reports of reps being all over the place with their answers, so it might also depend on who you talk to.)

Should work, as long as the hardware is compatible. Looks like Tello uses the T-mobile network, so I don't think that would be a problem.
