They don't. We got one in the mail today after breaking our last one the second time it was used. The blade broke in half. At least the lifetime warranty and easy claims process took only 4 weeks to get a replacement.

This is complete horse sh*t:

"4.7 out of 5 stars rating at Amazon based on over 2,970 customer reviews"

The second review is not even for this product or even same product category. Soil blocks or something. Browsing further, I only saw a few for this knife, but the products page makes it look like this has tons of great reviews.

Ridiculous and shady. Not sure if that's Fiskars doing that or Amazon.

Here we go: of the 2,970 reviews stated for the product, about 15% of those are for this knife. Boooo!!!

Sadly, you can't get an average rating for those 471 (that I know of) which is probably the point of combining multiple products. Horrible reviews for a product you need to move? Add it to a combined product page with better reviewed items to confuse the customer (trick, really) into buying something that seems to be great. Maybe this knife is that great item, but not going to roll the dice in case it's not, but more importantly f them on principle for this shady bs.

I personally would rather spend 3x on a Japanese Hori Hori knife instead of trusting Fiskars again. Their warranty is great, so when they break, you can get a replacement. We have had a Japanese Hori Hori knife for 10 years and I ordered a fiskars one thinking it would be comparable, but it broke the second time wife was using it in the garden. The blade broke in half, not near the handle but halfway through the blade itself.

This one (Fiskars Big Grip Garden Knife (70796935J) )looks similar except no sheath. Handle is a bit different but is there a bigger difference between them?

I had that one. It snapped off after about a half hour of use.

Fiskers garden tools are pretty low quality ones.

If you look at the reviews tons of photos where they brake at the handle. The one in this post seems to have tons of positive reviews. Seems to be similar performance to the Japanese version with the added forked tip.

Spend another $10 bucks and get a better made Chinese Hori Style knife if you don't want to spend $30 on a good Japanese one...as long as it is full tang you can not go wrong...fiskers makes some great products this NOT one of them...some of their professional grade products that use the ISO CORE tech are awesome...I have a hammer of theirs I just love!

Fiskars is cheap chinese trash. If it doesn't break after one use consider yourself lucky.

Welcome to the late-stage capitalism where you are paying for the product reviews not for the product quality.

I would recommend the black iron full Tang hori knife -- unless you trust yourself to be pretty gentle with a gardening knife, get a decent quality one that is full Tang or it will likely wear out pretty quick. Great tool in general though

I have one of these, Japanese made:
https://www.amazon.com/Nisaku-NJP...B01M5K2WWC

Seems quality so far, and I find the knife to be very useful around the yard. I've bent a Fiskars trowel in the past, so it'd probably need to be under $10 before I buy one of these.
