Great read, especially for those that grew up around tech through the 80s/90s. Really enjoyed this one.

Here's my own personal take on Jobs: Does this book cover how Jobs manipulated Wozniak to sign off on an agreement, so Jobs could dilute Wozniak's Apple shares to a tiny fraction of their original agreement?

Jobs: Took all the credit and money, gave none to others who rightfully deserved equal credit. As rich as he was, he even denied paternity of his daughter for years.

You know what's not in the book?

The dumping of thousands of new Apple Lisa's in a Utah landfill because an authorized reseller was doing too well. They sent ex-marines/guards to enforce it!

It's been a while since I've read this book but I seem to remember the author skipping over Lisa acting like the Macintosh was the computer immediately following the Apple II, and also I seem to remember the Microsoft bailout in 1997, which is what really saved Apple, missing as well. The one thing that makes this book probably worth a read is the story about the "iPod phone" and the iPad and how they came together to form the iPhone. I've also heard that they left out the LG Prada as an inspiration would be curious as to the real story there.

Here's another Jobs story: Very early in the days of registering WWW domain names, a guy with the last name of Newton registered newton.com. It was for his family to post personal things on the web.

Then, Apple came out with their personal digital assistant (PDA), called the "Newton." Apple wanted newton.com for themselves. Circa 1993. Although Mr. Newton had every legal right to his domain name, that didn't matter. Jobs had Apple's attorneys sue the bejesus out of Newton. Far beyond what Mr. Newton could afford to keep his namesake's domain. Jobs won. The rest is history.

As a side note, I was there before the WWW, and registered my first domain in 1994.

Actually, that was a settlement for the lawsuit they had been fighting with Microsoft for years.

Steve Jobs NeXT OS saved Apple and if it weren't for the companies merging and brining that OS on board, we wouldn't have iPods, iPads, iPhones, or Modern Mac OS, let alone Apple TV and the soon to be released Vision Pro.

Jobs wasn't even with the company when the Newton was created and he hated it so much, that it was the first product he killed when he returned to Apple.

You mean like Gates did to Allen and Balmer? Yeah, there's always been ruthless greedy people in history, it is no different in this industry.

Unlike Jobs, no one has ever idolized Gates as the kind-hearted bastion of innovation and technology.

In addition, your version of history does not completely parallel the facts:

Did Jobs return newton.com back to Mr. Newton?

Answer: No

These are well know facts, no need to mention, obviously.
And it's all in the movie mentioned earlier:

I've heard Steve Jobs was an awful person. Finding out about his background, I'm not surprised at all. It explains everything.
