noob question. Can I install and setup Peloton app on Echelon EX5s bike? Has anyone done this before and able to share their experience?

How does Echelon Connect Exercise EX5s Bike w/ 22" Screen (Mossy Oak) for $319 compare against the Walmart deal for Echelon Connect Sport-S Indoor Cycling Exercise Bike with 30 Day Free Membership Trial https://www.walmart.com/ip/480535186 for $299. I bought the Walmart one few days back when it came on deal. I have not opened it.

EX 5S 22 at $319 vs ECH Sport S at $299

Can anyone speak to how these compare to the Echelon Connect Sport-S on sale from Walmart last week? I picked one of those up but seriously looking at returning for EX5s or 4s+. Paid $297 for the Sport-S. It is still unopened in the box.
Would the extra $20 for the EX5s Mossy Oak or extra $90 for the 4s+ be worth the hassle of returning?

4s+ is just the 4s with the larger screen I believe.

5s is the updated model, i think with just minor updats to the handlebar and accessories placement. I think both 4s and 5s are much better than the sport.

With all the screens, better seats, and all that on more expensive models, I'd still avoid them and go with simpler ones. Main reason: mechanically adjustable resistance vs electronically one. Nothing to break with the mechanical one, and the bike works even not powered/connected. Electronically adjustable resistance on more expensive models is prone to malfunction often (check complaints online), specifically the operating block. And in such case requires that block exchanged. Besides the bike is operational only when connected to power.
So, I would choose a simpler one. My Sport one/WM edition has been going strong for 3 years so far.

Auto resistance is a different story. Again, I'd avoid for the reasons above. Besides, the EX5s doesn't have auto resistance anyway, but resistance is electronically adjusted.

That's honestly one reason I stuck to buying from Costco in case something goes wrong. If mine wasn't assembled I would have for sure returned and bought here.

for this price, it's almost a nobrainer for the 5s with 22in screen.

Wondering this as well. My health insurance includes a 12 month Pelaton subscription.so have I have been on the fence about getting one of those. I really would like to do the classes, so wondering how well they crossover.

I have the EX7s which is similar to EX5s. Great bike especially with peloton and qz apps.

Given I have 2 connect bikes gathering dust (in basement, not useful for clothes drying) I'll take your advice and not grab another ex5s (for auto-resistance). While auto is nice feature for younger capable riders, I think it's better to keep it under my control.

Almost same situation: another spare in storage, but I actively use one. Back to auto resistance, no need to get EX5s for that: it does not have it.
(The Echelon EX5s does not have automated resistance. You have to adjust the resistance yourself.)

Update: seems like EX5s DOES have auto resistance, see posts below. Confirmed w/qdomyoszwift app. (sorry for confusion)
