Couldn't decide between the GT+ for $280 or EX5s mossy oak for $320 but after watching some Youtube reviews I ended up buying the GT+. If you don't mind paying $35/month ($400/year) for the membership then the EX5s with the 22" monitor is an absolute steal! Personally I'd rather just connect my iPad via bluetooth to display the metrics in the Echelon app for free or use whatever fitness app I want. Here's a review of the GT+ for those interested

Google "unlock echelon *bike-model* screen/tablet." You'll likely find a post on Reddit or echelon forums, that will link you to the XDA developers forum. There you'll find out how, if someone's done the work. Good odds someone has though.

I think echelon added support for some of those apps on the tablet, without figuring out a work around.

i just want to comment that hacking the tablet on the connect s was a piece of cake. yea there are some slightly difficult parts that require a little googling but for me an amateur that doesn't mess with coding was able to do it in about an hour while multitasking. i'm going to return the connect S for 300 and use the camo EX5s because it's a better bike with a bigger tablet and more features. and auto resistance while using QZ is one fewer step to regularly exercising.

Well, I guess I debated too long on the EX3 vs Camo EX5. I was kinda leaning toward the 3 since I think just using an iPad seems like it's probably a better overall experience than using and side loading their locked down screen/tablet. The deal on the 5 was obviously better, but the camo was also terrible (yeah, no one was gonna see it 99% of the time anyway, but still…mossy oak is like the worst kind of camo to me).

It appears the instructions for installing the qzwift is same for connect S and EX5s. Any specific instruction set/link you have followed that made it easy, please share. Thanks.

I use Apple fitness which doesn't do auto resistance anyway. Peloton is also raising their app prices so the GT+ with no screen made sense for me.

Went from not interested in a bike to "I must buy the 5s at this price" to "shoot it's sold out" very quickly. What a rollercoaster of emotions. If the 5s comes back in stock for $320, would someone please PM me? Though I doubt it'll come back in stock..

Surprised it took this long for camo 5s to go oos. I thought it was a pm at first and would sell out quickly. Guess they either had a bunch to sell or ppl really hate camo.
