Haven't had the best luck with palmetto craft in the past. I've had to plane some parts to assemble and received parts which were split or cracked. Buyer beware, assembly might be so straightforward. The pressure treated wood seems rot resistant, but can still bow, warp, and twist. I've used water sealants but noticed some parts crowning/bowing. Furthermore, some pre-assembled components don't follow wood working best practices such as alternating crowns and bows. I still think it's way cheaper than a self build, but things to keep in mind.
I havent had the best luck with Palmetto either. I received their non-treated adirondack chair a few years ago and polyurethaned the hell out of it. Sat on the deck exposed to full elements of sun and rain. It's falling apart now. But my 5+ year old cedar furniture are still going strong. I'm assuming when I received the chair, the wood already had a bunch of moisture in it. I noticed now Home Depot doesnt sell the unfinished version any more and now sells the same chair pre-stained.

Edit: Actually they do have a new version of their untreated one.

Product page says pressure treated so it should do okay outside. If it's going to be exposed to the rain your going to need to reseal this every year or other year. Under a roof should do better.

Either way you probably couldn't build this cheaper even if you completely ignore the value of your time.

Bought a Palmetto pressure treated table a month ago and my lazy butt hasn't stained or put poly on it yet. One side of it is slightly outside an overhang and that part of it is starting to crack after a day or two of light rain.

Not sure what I should've expected but I didn't expect that.

This is the table: https://palmettocraft.com/product...boon-table

Now I'm no lumber expert, but that "treated" wood isn't looking very green to me. Green is in the color of the chemicals to make it rot/bug resistant, not fresh cut.

Saying that, this could be an ideal template for anyone with semi-decent woodworking skills to produce a knock-off version with pressure treated lumber and a router to round over all the edges. I mean, with all the power tool deals listed here, there have to be a few weekend warrior wood workers.

The problem with these cheap kits is that they don't dry the wood before they cut it so it behaves unpredictably as it dries. Unless your heart is set on wood for some reason at this price you'd be better off getting one of the plastic and metal ones from Lifetime.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not in a hurry to sit on pressure-treated wood lol that stuff is pretty nasty

This one says it is kiln, dried and pressure treated. I don't know what they're pressure treating it with, but it is that your traditional steam inclusive pressure treatment. I believe the only reason they put the statement is the differentiate between non-pressure-treated and pressure-treated wood.

Also, typically pressure-treated wood has some sort of a puncture pattern on it that they used to open up the forest all of the stuff in. Chances are this is more likely sealed with some sort of a Thompson's water seal type product , because true pressure-treated wood I don't think you can easily stain as it isn't porous.

Could be completely wrong about everything lol.

This is not pressure treated. It says kiln dried pine. This will definitely need to be sealed with an oil or finisher with poly. Before assembling would be best idea

"Kiln-dried pressure treated pine" certainly seems to at least imply pressure treated.

So I picked up one of these last week. The pine is very light in color like the pictures and there is some sort of finish on it. Doesn't feel like raw pine. Definetly not like treated lumber for construction use or house framing.
