Looks almost identical to the the Harbor Freight Bauer Oscillating Edge Belt and Spindle Sander

This is the same design as all the others, white labeled by Triton, Grizzly, etc.

Been a beast for me for what it is and Wen is generally the cheapest out of the gate without coupons. Now each company may have different quality requirements, but I doubt it at this price level.

The table top finish rubs off over time that will leave black marks on your work and the spindle/belt may not be a perfect 90deg to the table, but it's under $200.

I've seen some people mention the same thing in reviews but many also say it was a dead 90. I guess it's something to check when you receive it.

I've seen this in a few reviews too and I'm thinking about buying this.

How exactly should I check this when it arrives to make sure my unit is good? Do I just set up the belt and then hold a rafter square up against it to make sure it is 90 degrees to the table?

The Wen 4.3 amp disc / belt sander is also on sale at Walmart with free shipping $96.00. The motor is more powerful at 4.3 amps and the belt is bigger at 4x36 inches. It also has a 6" disc sander…but no oscillation..

I have it, not adjustable. Mines off of square a little bit, but still tremendously useful, I use it on just about every project. I also have an issue where the belt extends above the table and if I lower the belt on the oscillating assembly, it runs into an angled "stop" of sorts on the plate which makes a noticeable gouge in the bottom of your workpiece. I overcome this by just throwing down and/or clamping a piece of plywood to the table.

My motor recently burned out. It's a brushed motor, so you can order new brushes and a new rotor assembly for like $30 and it's good as new. WEN service was excellent.

I love this machine. For $150 you'd be hard pressed to find something more useful.

Edit: motor burned out after 4 years of hard use. For a brushed motor it's par for the course. Nothing unexpected here.

Is it possible to use shims to get the table square? Not the easiest solution but once you have it set you shouldn't have to mess with it anymore.
