Kenmore just rebrand from other manufacturers. You have to look at the model number prefix to find out who's the actual maker. this one is made by Daewoo. tons of bad reviews on Amzn. I would avoid.

This looks like a cheap price but the reviews are bad,
Guess even the warranty doesn't help if this breaks down?

Not really. If you think about it, we've just gotten to a point where they've "engineered" stuff to the point where it's just scraping by by meeting the bare minimum requirements (whereas in the past everything was over engineered).

Oh I actually love the fridge it's super quiet. The dual icemakers are fantastic. I bought it last week for $1000. Costco is phenomenal and so far this fridge is a 10 out of 10. I've had Samsungs lgs and a whirlpool, my Samsung was my most expensive, and my most hated( ice maker never worked and was very loud) if you can find it at this price it's a must buy!

You need to be careful with Kenmore. Most of their refrigerators are made by LG's appliance devision and they've been sued twice in the last few years for having the worst compressors in the industry.

We had an LG fridge we bought from Costco and the compressor lasted 4 years. The appliance tech told us the repair was at least $1000 and to never buy LG or Kenmore as they're the same and the replacement compressors are just as bad. The three appliance stores we went to when buying a new fridge all basically said "I'm sorry you bought an LG - that's why we don't sell them."

A friend of ours had a Kenmore that lasted 5 years then the compressor failed and they heard the same thing from techs and appliance stores.

Don't rely on this as a main fridge.

Well the Kenmore brand name had to be sold to someone after Sears went out of business.

Yes, it's true. LG kicks but in some things like TV's, but not refrigerators. Some of the repairs folks on YouTube have said the same thing. Class-action lawsuits over LG compressors and Samsung icemakers. The worst of all is Samsung fridges and washers though.

I'll never buy a French door refrigerator again. Our fridge broke down yesterday so I was in the market for a replacement (didn't think it was worth repairing) and settled for a side by side. The freezer on the French door models is impractical from my experience. And the two door was annoying when trying to look for what you want.

It was at one point. But a lot of manufacturers make Kenmore. Sears just slapped their name on it.
