Message 611611 with UNLOCK and you get automated response when device will be unlocked. Device needs to be activated first for 60-day counter.

In fact, if you or your friend already has Total by Verizon, you can put their sim in this device, make a call, send a text or two, then put the sim back in their device. 60 days later, this phone will be unlocked....
