Does it work with an already active Verizon post paid sim once unlocked? The Moro Edge + I bought from Boost worked just fine.

I did that " trick" virtual ram on Samsung A23 i believe and it did absolutely nothing for multitasking and performance. It actually felt slower. Virtual ram is a scam.
you don't need to complain here after paying $50. if you care go buy a 12Gb RAM device for $1500.
Too many shitty un-thankful ppl these days

I've absolutely smashed this phone on the ground 4-5 times with zero damage. Do you not have a case?
Case recommendations please.

good phone but a few draw backs:

1. Audio Quality on this phone is defiantly not good. When doing a comparison between this phone, Pixel 6A, and iPhone SE, the Pixel 6A and iPhone SE had better sound quality.

2. Signal Bars are fudged and not correct. I did some testing in the field and found Moto upped the signal bars but the actual modem showed much less signal.

3. No eSim support though 98% of Moto phones also don't support eSim either.

4. Supports up to C-Band only, mmWave not supported.

If you can live with the drawbacks, its a decent phone otherwise.

anyone able to checkout with $15plan? pls advise

for people complaining about RAM, they can increase RAM by 1 GB to make it 5GB usable allocation

goto settings - system -RAM Boost -Enable 1GB extra RAM allocation here. This step swaps 1GB space from your 128GB and allocate as RAM virtual swap memory , with all Motorola devices from 2022 onwards we are able to increase RAM.
Edge+ 2022 gives 2GB extra swap allocation to make it total 10GB
Moto G base model gives 0.5 GB or 512MB of extra RAM as well.

Please thank me for revealing this trick
This will slow down your phone even more!

Ok trying to wrap my head around the options here...
I've searched the thread but its gotten quite lengthy, so someone please correct me if wrong or confirm I am understanding thiscorrectly.
Boost Moto G Stylus 5G 2022 is roughly OOP $50... Thats ($10) phone + 1 mo plan ($40) - LOCKED to Boost but easily unlockable via eBay. This version has 4GB RAM but can virtually add 1GB from ROM, bringing it to 5GB.
Metro Moto G Stylus 5G 2022 is roughly OOP $60 Thats ($20) phone w/ new line + 1 mo plan ($40) - LOCKED to Metro but easily unlockable via eBay. This version has 6GB RAM but can virtually add 1GB from ROM, bringing it to 7GB.

Am I understanding this correctly? It comes down to spending another $10 for 2GB additional RAM.
Yes? If so, IMO the extra 2GB is well worth it. Seems like a no brainer to go Metro then unlock (if you wish).
TIA

The virtual ram isn't going to magically make a slow SOC faster. All it does is it might help prevent apps running in the background from closing when the hardware ram runs out.

The SD680 on the Samsung A23 is just slow. Both the CPU and GPU is almost 50% slower than the SD695 used no this Moto G Stylus 5G 2022. Not to mention Samsung usually has a lot of priority bloatware and background tasks on their phones.

Don't you need an existing number to transfer to metro? That means more cost and hassle.

The phone just says "check availability", but the button doesn't do anything for me. I tried mobile/desktop. Is it sold out or is that normal and the button is just broken for me?

I tried skimming the last few pages of comments and didn't see anyone else mention it being dead

Website states $20 for "Need a New Number" OR $0 "Bring Your Number" + $40 plan
If you have a number it's actually CHEAPER than the Boost offer, but I was comparing the offer to "Need a new number" since thats the offer with Boost.

FWIW, I had no luck using another Boost-unlocked phone (A53) on Verizon MVNO. The explanation that I received was that Verizon IMEI whitelist doesn't list Boost phones - unlocked or otherwise.

EDIT: never mind, I'm not thinking straight. That was Metro, not Boost.
Not sure if it applies to your particular device, but Samsung carrier phones that were later unlocked often have problems working on a different network. What typically needs to be done is flashing the device from "U" firmware to "U1" firmware. If you are comfortable with the idea of flashing your phone, you might want to check to see if you have the correct firmware version. Of course it is possible that even with "U1" firmware, Verizon still rejects the device.

To those who are concerned whether autopay is disabled or not:

Check both your account page on boostmobile.com and in the Boost One app just to make sure autopay is disabled. You want to make sure the status on both gives the same result.

Can we use this phone with just WiFi to play Google apps on it? I have an iPhone and the game I play makes it such a pain to do anything else and I miss notifications.

What I'm asking really is can I use it as game burner phone via WiFi? Or does it require service and activation to have access to the phone? Thanks.
Yes, you can just use wifi.
