For just "storage" would you really feel that much difference between an SSD and nvme?
I would still have a 1TB SSD and a few SATA from my old rig, but I dont think I wanna transfer any of them over, start brand new everything and use that for like a cloud server or HTPC etc....
if they are like me.... i don't like having to dload and redownload games so i tend to have all my EA (origin) installed one one drive, Ubisoft on another, Game pass Games get another, and then Main steam games are on another (with the majority of my steam library sitting dormant on a HDD, with the other HDD holding media
NVME/SSD you will mainly only notice difference with transferring / but if you have really really fast internet then installation you may notice as well
