Almonds have 10x as many oxalates as pistachios. Pistachios and macadamia and pecans are the lowest.

Seems to be good on up to 5 pounds, I got all 5. I figure $6 for shells on per lb is fair, so this is very good.

I do wonder what could be done with all these pistachio shells we discard. Surely there is a compost value or some industrial use for them, as an abrasive if nothing else? Seems like such a waste of time and useful shells.
Coarse grind then and put them in your plant bed. Deters slugs and snails, esp in strawberry beds.

Supposedly cashews were also over cropped to the extent that much had to be left rotting. So hopefully we'll see some slick deals on those soon too!!
