This looks different from the 2TB p44 sold by newegg a couple weeks ago, which was $120ish and I have it with me now. https://slickdeals.net/f/16685294-2tb-solidigm-p44-pro-nvme-gen4-ssd-120

Right now, I will only buy from dealers who have free returns.
Hope Amazon and Newegg have similar deal.

I peeled off the sticker to put on a heat sink and it is SK Hynix.

The software that "boosts" performance is only for Windows 11.

And you were surprised that the Memory OEM that owns the Solidigm brand is the OEM that made the modules for the drive? Did you expect it to say Intel?

SK Hynix bought most of Intel's SSD assets. They were renamed Solidigm. A lot of the Intel engineers still work for Solidigm.

Whatever they are doing with software and firmware is a plus.

Is this better than the Samsung 980 pro 2tb nvme stick? Thanks!

Actually, Solidigm P44 Pro is a rebrand of the Hynix Platinum P41, which uses Hynix flash. It doesn't have anything to do with Intel's intellectual property they acquired in Jan 2022, unlike the Solidigm P41 Plus, which uses Intel's flash and controller. My understanding is that Hynix is consolidating the product line so they will not make another Hynix (or Intel) branded drive going forward, although existing products like Intel 670p and Hynix Gold P31 will continue to be sold under their old branding.

Here you go https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C4F9DSJ1
It's not as good as SN850X but you are really splitting hairs at this point.

Solidigm is 100% SK Hynix now. They've a big Zero support and have not responded to my email in 5 weeks on a failed NVMe I purchased from NE. I know Samsung Support sucks as well in case their NVMe fails. Micron or Kingston is probably more reliable in my opinion though I've never used Kingston Warranty. Hynix might make great enterprise DRAMs - but their consumer brand products are mediocre and their consumer support is non-existent.

I made this exact point here of no customer support by SK Hynix for Solidigm and was bombarded with negative comments that I was wrong and lying. I would like to know what Solidigm fanboy is thumbing down both our posts for simply telling the truth about their zero customer support.

Picked up the 990Pro last week but it doesn't sound like you can go wrong with this one for $40 less.

"the Solidigm P44 Pro clearly outruns the Innogrit and Phison-based drives, and the Samsung SSD 980 Pro, but ultimately trails the newer SSD 990 Pro by a small margin."

In which way? They seem identical products to me?
