this seems like a killer price on the RP, considering it carries the same warranty as the brand new RP, one year.

Add $100 for the 24-105mm F4-7.1 lens. Not the best lens, but $599+$100 a great price for a starter kit.
$80 for the 50mm lens is good too.

I am going to wait till black friday and hope for some refurbished R8's

I was also pleasantly surprised that they took the 10% off before the $59 coupon for the lens.

Hey just curious, I have an old T2i and was gifted a T8i recently. How revolutionary is this RP? Thinking to get back into doing some photo and video projects. Trying to find if its worth flipping my old Canons to get in on these new ones. Any good advice? or links for good info?
thanks!

Well, this is the same sensor as the 6DMKii soooooo in the eyes of many photo nerds it's kind of a stinker. It's dynamic range performance is pretty far behind Sony, Nikon, and Canon's newest models. However it's a really fun camera to use.

The RP sensor may be old, but its still much better than a T8i sensor. Plus you get live view and an EVF, which allows you to see the exposure in real time.

If you are to buy the EOS RP, I do suggest the 24-105mm F4-7.1 for $100 and 50mm F1.8 for $80.

Link to the RF 24-105? Not seeing this for $100 (or anywhere close to that)

The small size is really awesome for portability. One thing that I really didn't like was that I couldn't just use the silent electronic sensor whenever I wanted - I had to go to the appropriate SCN mode. I wish they had updated the software to allow usage in manual mode.

Excellent price considering it's a full-frame body!
I still use mine (purchased when it first came out) and it's held up great.

My brief feedback on it (photo-usage):
Battery is kind of mixed. Lasts me through most of the day, but seems to just die whenever it feels like it without any warning. Nothing a spare doesn't fix.

Image quality is nice. I do still feel that the images out of my 6D (Mark I) are better than the RP (which uses the 6D Mark II sensor) which is weird.

My biggest complaint -- heavy lenses (EF Lenses) are pretty unusable for me. On my 6D I can shoot with my 85 f/1.4, my 105 f/1.4, my 135mm f/2, no problem! But on the RP? Its just way too front heavy for me.

I just pulled the trigger for $599 pus received the 10% loyalty discount. In addition, I purchased the 4 year Canon Warranty which is transferable when I upgrade the RP for the R8.

I have had the rp for 2 years now. I have owned the t2i, t6i, 6D. In my opinion the Rp is by far my favorite. Quality, speed, low light performance, general performance are all better. Took me awhile to get used to evf. Personally I prefer through the lens shooting. But it is great to have a more compact dslr.

A feature not mentioned here, I use my camera for zoom/teams calls. Everyone comments that my video is far and away better than any video they have seen.

I agree with lens comments by others.

Bought this a month ago.
The jump from my EOS Rebel is incredible.

I picked up two lenses with the RP and then picked up a third last week.

Excited to get back into the photo world and this is a great deal.

This is a good camera for entry into the mirrorless world. Good for regular photos and travel if you don't need fast AF or burst shots.
