I would be possibly interested to use as a monitor but looks like it's not great at that

I was able to score the 55 inch version [amazon.com] for $109.99 last year so I'm hopeful/optimistic I can get this deal as well; thx OP.

Regarding the 55 inch, the colors were terrible and all washed out. No matter what I did, I never could get the picture to be acceptable.

However, when I connected a Fire Stick 4K Max and tried to adjust the picture quality while the TV was in the HDMI input for it, picture quality improved extraordinarily. Once I adjusted the Black Level and White Level via the Screen Test app [amazon.com], I saw a big improvement.

I set the Fire Stick 4k Max Display settings to the following before adjusting the picture settings when using the Screen Test app [amazon.com]….

Color Depth = 12bits

Color Format = YCbCr

Dynamic Range Settings = Always HDR

I mention all this because at first the 55 inch version of this deal made an awful impression and I'm assuming that the 43" version will have the same issues.

IMO you can improve picture quality dramatically by not using the built in FireTV OS of these TVs and using a Fire TV 4k Max stick instead.

43" might be good when working out, like using a elliptical or rower.
I have an old as hell 55" Vizio for my gym... It won't die, even being in freezing temps and hawt as balls temps in my garage... The remote is a different story.

How does this compare to this Toshiba one?

Is Dolby Vision worth the $100?
Mostly using for PS5 gaming- upgrading from regular 1080 HDTV. I don't imagine I'd notice a $100 difference.

Half the thread is hidden by the cancel crew that keeps mashing the TD button on seemingly random comments. Anyway, thanks for HU OP.

Ugghh...I bought a scratch and dent version of this TV from BestBuy (without remote which, btw is virtually impossible to setup unless you can find a spare) but the return window will be closed by the time I ever find out if I get the invite. Figures.

I like the TV though, it was a "cheap" outside TV -- though I have to turn the volume up to 70 to hear it over the air conditioner when that's running =P
Try changing payment method. That is, don't take the TV, just bring the receipt and say, hey I need to change the payment method from card1 to 2nd card.

Only a 14-day window -- but if that works, I guess I could do it twice! Thanks for the idea!

Considering Prime Day is still weeks out, I'd venture to say no. If you're wondering if you can still request an invite, we'll I'm not sure. I already requested one so it doesn't show the option in the app for me. Sorry

so wow tv costs 100 dollars for a 40+ inch now.
why do people even bother with tv deals each year. There isn't a point. everyone has to have a large tv by now.

spend money elsewhere.
TV are a depreciating asset actually more liability than asset.

The PS5 doesn't support Dolby vision so you'll be fine either way. I would spend that extra bit on an extended warranty. Square trade now all state warranty covered the cost of my plasma TV twice. They couldn't fix it and cut me a check.

Why is this so popular? Is there something special about this tv?

$99 price point ... almost a no-thinking impulse buy price if you need it. In the grand scheme of things, it's pretty amazing to think you can get a new 4K TV delivered to your door for $100.
