This is just a rebranded 670p or a new drive?

This is gen 4 while 670p is gen 3 (according to reviews this will work in PS5). NAND chips might be same but controller is different so there's difference between the two.

Decent deal. Inb4 no dram and QLC........for this price and for the fact that the vast majority would never know the difference in usage (sans benching), they are basically non-issues.

You would notice the difference in a USB enclosure. In a system with >16GB RAM this is a great drive

Bit confused...you mean when used for a portable drive?

Once i switched to gen4 7000+ card i don't think i ever want to go back to gen3 and no DRAM. File transfer does drop with dramless drives once cache fills up. It's noticeable.

You're not getting that for this price.

Think of this drive as a better pci gen 3 drive even tho it's gen 4. Even tho it's QLC and no dram. It's limitations are better than gen 3 drives with dram cache a lot of times.

And the brand has been around a long time because it's more known in the enterprise server space. It's just now selling stuff on the consumer side

You mean the parent Hynix ? Solidigm is pretty new brand created after Intel sold off its business.
