Does Amazon or Best Buy have the easier return policy and better customer support?

TVs are so cheap now. It's literally the one thing going down in price. Meanwhile my grocery bill seems to still go higher and higher haha
Thankfully, it's not the one thing. It's pretty much true of all electronics, from computers to cellphones to digital watches to hard drives. Hard drive, SSD and memory card prices have dropped precipitously. And some phones have become so outdated that they're giving them away free. I once donated a 4 yo phone to Good Will and as far as I know, it never sold and was either given away or discarded.

In 1985, a 140 MEGAbyte hard drive was $4395. Now you can get a 16 TERAbyte drive for about $200. That's $31.39 per meg in 1985 vs $0.00001 per meg in 2023! And the newer drive is much faster and more reliable. In other words, you're paying less for more -- and better.

Here's a graph of RAM, hard drive, SSD, etc prices through the years. The drop is pretty consistent.

Honest question, what happens if they send a 2021 vs 2023 model? Would they just offer a free UPS pickup service to return it or how do they handle these things?
All my Amazon returns have been brought to a UPS store, and once to Whole Foods (which they own). I think they also have a paid pickup service for $8.99.

Best Buy sent me a broken TV. The website said that it had to be returned to the store (that was the only option after starting a return). But if you call them and complain, e.g. you're crippled and can't carry a TV, they'll send you a label and probably pickup. I only found this out after breaking my back bringing the TV to a store.

At the time, I was REALLY annoyed because my case was so egregious. I bought an open box TV from them. I'm fine with not-new products but this "open box" TV had no box! It was literally delivered to me wrapped with only ONE layer of bubble wrap. No box or any other covering. Nor was there a remote control or power cord. Needless to say, it didn't survive the rough multi-state trip in a FedEx truck. The QLCD panel was cracked and separating from the chassis. Much to my shock, the store didn't even ask for an explanation before issuing the refund (I was armed with the photo FedEx takes as proof of delivery). They didn't even look at the TV. They just put it aside and a few days later I saw a full refund.

Bought this Saturday to upgrade my parents 17 year old HD TV Sony Bravia. It's an upgrade to it, but the speakers that came with the Bravia sounds much better then today's TVs I've heard.

Secret meeting? lol
You make fun of him, but this is exactly what makers of bulbs did back in mid 20th century. They secretly met and colluded to bring the bulbs quality down significantly so that consumers buy them more often

I bought the 42" F20 series and the smart features are soooooo slow. Sometimes it shuts itself down while trying to load.
