Is KastKing a reputable store? I bought fish grippers and scale from them and I'm getting cheap Chinese knockoff vibes.

Seemingly popular store, but stuff like this is certainly going to be "cheap chinese" quality, still might be decent bang for the buck depending on what exactly you're looking for. I just keep an old pair of needle nose pliers in my bag.

I bought their bag that was recently on sale and REALLY like it so far. Very nice considering how inexpensive it was.

I have these pliers and they are surprisingly well made. I have used these regularly for the last 2 years or so in fresh- and saltwater. No corrosion and still function the same way they did on day one. The built in cutter is great for mono as well as braid and will also cut a small gauge wire leader.

It is, I have a lot of their shit, none of it really works well for salt water tho. Rusts quick

I used to be a big KastKing fan, this is when I used to fish fresh water... I started deep sea fishing and tried to use a lot of my equipment from them and it just doesn't work well. The saltwater tears it up, my pliers, digital scale, knives, scissors, my huge tackle backpack bag, etc. all falling apart/rusted. I still have it all and can take pictures of anybody is curious, but I had to upgrade all my gear. I keep this stuff around in case I ever want to freshwater fish and just quickly go but I don't recommend any KastKing stuff.

For anybody curious who might think I don't take care of them, I use salt away products as well on all my gear after each trip I return home.

Edit: I should probably suggest a recommendation... the Cuda brand stuff works great.

I've got quite a few of their pliers (normal, split ring, etc.), knives, and scissors at this point and they are solid and not rusting at all. Even had a few people on my private charters pick them up after seeing how good they are on the boats.

I take them with me each trip, including the knives when I do small 4-pack boats and no rust.

I have these. After a year, they still look new. Keep them dry, they should last for a decade at least

You won't need the split ring. It's for opening up the little split rings that hold hooks to lures. For example if you needed to swap out an old hook from a lure.

I've been using KastKing products for the last year or so in fresh and salt water. I've had no issues with rust or corrosion. I find them to be a good "value" product for accessories such as this. I assume the more expensive name brand stuff is still made in China so why pay the mark up?

I have a pair of these and think they're great. They've held up for a few years already.

Perfect timing, I was about to go to Dick's today to buy something off the shelf. Now I just need a sale for a measuring board and lip grippers.

Bought these last "deal," arrived with rust on them. KastKing makes the customer pay for return shipping so kept them. Would not buy from KK again.

I got the pliers/lip gripper combos for $9 and the pliers are not something I'd buy again. First, the stupid split ring pliers are horrible for trying to remove hooks from fish. That's any split-ring pliers though. These have a little "lock" on them that is so loose, it will lock and unlock itself.

For good brands, danco seems to have good stuff. Not for this cheap price though.
