Great CPU and memory. I have both of these, but part of a Newegg combo from several months ago. That was $500 including the mobo, so this is a great deal since you get to exercise your choice for mobo. The ASRock PG Lighting that came with mine is pretty good.

What's a good Micro-ATX board for this? I have a case that needs a motherboard.
B650M - either AsRock or Gigabyte.

If you have a microcenter near you and are ok with open box, I recommend walking in and looking at the mobos. Fairfax VA had a whole wall of open box mobos discounted and you get another $20 off if you buy a CPU with it.

It's odd that Fairfax store shows this combo oos yet the same combo with mobo has 25+ in stock.considering the CPU and RAM is the same. If your store shows the same Id go in and talk to a manager since the individual parts are clearly in stock.

Im salty MC has expanded even to the East coast but nothing for Northern CA. Their original location is in SoCal if I'm not mistaken.

Isn't the $450 bundle with MOBO included better? I cannot find a ~$130 mobo anywhere
Yeah if want Full Size ATX the MOBO bundle is cheapest options since cheapest ATX motherboard is $180 currently

I've been thinking the same. Any idea what the open box mobos usually are? Returns?

$310 was good. But $290 is even better.

Good price esp when you can also get a discount on the board if bought at the same time.
they refused to give me the 20 off a mobo when I bought this bundle a few weeks ago.

My 7700x is so loud, it sounds like an airplane ready for takeoff when I do simple things like download a file. On my work pc I have a 5800x that I keep fairly quiet through motherboard settings and also setting the maximum processor state to 99%. But this 7700x was going in my new gaming pc for my living room and I didnt want to lose performance by doing this. What am I doing wrong? When idle its quiet so I dont think I need to redo the thermal paste just yet.

I would put a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE CPU Air Cooler on it to reduce the noise. Next step up, and more maintenance would be water cooling.

CPUs don't make any noise. Use quieter fans and/or adjust your fan curve. This is assuming your cooler installation is done properly.

It isn't the CPU that is loud but your fans/cooling.
